In my case I am just trying to get Netatalk to work on a Ubuntu
12.04.4 machine. But the precompiled tracker (apt-get one) is very
old. And I am wondering if that is why spotlight does not work.
That is why I am installing it manually. I am still quite new to
compiling my self, so I just ran it “./configure” with no arguments.
Is there any argument I could run to get rid of this. Gstreamer is
installed, and there is a streamer-1.0 entry in the PKG_config path,
so I don’t understand why it is saying that. But the server I am
installing has not many videos, and I guess gstreamer is for checking
videos (right?), so I could be without that :)
Are you using git master for Tracker?
I only ask because I've updated autogen.sh lately to automatically use
the distcheck arguments if none are given and the prefix for JHBUILD if
it is detected.
Perhaps if you could send me the output from configure? That might help.
I wonder why I don't see this when building in Jhbuild. My set up is
quite modern though.
