Thanks Debarshi,
Currently albums or collections are implemented using nfo:DataContainer, and
screenshots are identified by checking the tEXt::Software option for
'gnome-screenshot'.
I don't follow regarding the "tEXt::Software option" bit?
Actually, in my Bugzilla comment, I didn't consider DataContainer. It
does make some sense. It subclasses nie:InformationElement and we can
use nie:title for it due to that.
I am wondering if the filesystem miner could look at tEXt::Software and create
a nfo:DataContainer for all photos that have it. Ofcourse it could be under a
optional --enable-gnome flag because this might be specific to GNOME.
Makes sense.
The hard part is knowing what's a photo and what's a screenshot?
By filename? By location? By metadata in the file itself?
Then where do you add this? In the extractors (we have a bunch of them),
the miner-fs itself probably doesn't a lot of sense because it deals
with file-only data and passes on the metadata specifics - which this is.
Or do you think there are better ways to do this? What do you think?
I've added some ideas to the bug report.
Thanks,
