Something I have wanted to do for a long time is to make the
XDG dirs actual buttons and not weird strings in the list :) So
they're really just toggle buttons. One for documentation could
also be useful I agree.
Would be really nice - but why do I need $PCTURES, if I include
$HOME as well? OK - if one of the other directories is not under
$HOME, it would make sense.
We index $HOME non-recursively currently. We then do the XDG dirs
recursively after that. Which makes sense if you think about it
because people often store crap in other directories and important
things like Music, Images, Videos, etc in the XDG dirs (unless they
have some other legacy system in place) - either way if users don't
care about where so much as a symbol (i.e. my Documents directory)
then it is much better for us and them.
OK - makes sense.
But I used a few times "tracker-control -c" and at least in the
version from git, I am quite sure, that $HOME was not in the
non-recursive category.
In addition, would it be possible to add the indexing of
emails in local directories (maildir and I have forgotten the
other format at the moment), and an identification of those
as emails?
That's a question for Philip.
Hopefully he has an idea?
He's our email guru :)
Let the guru do his magic...
