[Tracker] Tags in Tracker

Hello,
I have a question about the tags created by Tracker through the
tagging plugin for Nautilus (not sure if there's aonther way to tag
files with Tracker, but my question would include that as well).
Are these tags saved as properties of the file (i.e. in the metadata),
or are they kept in a separate location?
I ask this because:  If I transfer a copy of a file tagged by Tracker
to another computer, will the tags remain available for indexing to
Tracker (or any other search engine, if present, respectively) on that
other computer?
