Hi, 

The last patch didn't handle the case where the user's clock was set
into the past after the initial localtime(3) invocation. 

The attached patch, which replaces the previous one, fixes that.

I reran my benchmarks and there didn't appear to be a noticeable
performance difference between this patch and the last patch.
