I just committed support for this into tracker-needle:

You will need to check that branch out (it is based on 0.9.x) to try the 
new client though of course. Anyway, it seems to work well. There are 
some speed issues with the amount of data I am testing with (based on 
the functional-tests/ttl data) but it works if you wait long enough. 
With real data, it is likely less problematic.

As for tracker-search-bar, I am not sure it will get support any time 
soon since it may be removed (with gnome-shell coming) and 
tracker-search-tool is due to deprecated for tracker-needle anyway.
