Would the Tracker maintainers be OK with additions to Tracker's ontology described below if I submit a patch?
Those changes are platform dependant so i think it is ok to have them in your custom ontology. Duplicate properties in the ontology to put the T9 transcription sounds a bad idea: now it works for contacts but later we would need the same for PostalAddress and more and more string properties.
I think the right solution would be to implement the T9 transcription as a second collation for certain properties (marked with tracker:collateT9 in the ontology). Not sure if this is possible with a fair level of complexity (Aleksander probably can help here). Those patches would be very welcome :)
