Hi Nikolaus,
Please consider http://www.rath.org/search1.jpg and
http://www.rath.org/search2.jpg.
Why isn't the second search producing "testfile.txt" as a result?
According to the first search, "testfile.txt" is in the index and
contains the search string.
Some additional information: searching for "search" shows testfile.txt,
searching for "some data" or just "data" does not yield any results.
Unfortunately both "some" and "data" words are included in the stopwords
dictionary shipped with tracker
in /usr/share/tracker/languages/stopwords.en
This means that these words are considered so common in the given
language (english in this case) that even if tracker stores them as
plain content info, they are not really indexed for full text search.
In the other hand, "search" is not in the stopwords list, so that's why
you're getting good results with that word.
There's a bugreport requesting stopwords to be enabled/disabled in
configuration, anyway:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=491850
Was going to add that new conf option someday this week.
Cheers,

Aleksander
