Hi there,
Get your ontology proposals and changes in ASAP. If your team has
special requirements, I recommend doing a thorough review of the
ontologies that you use soon.
Because as soon as we do a 0.8 stable release, we will only do additions
for ontology changes, and we'll be reluctant to make ontology changes in
the 0.8 series. We consider the ontology as API, and no backward
incompatible API changes will be accepted during a stable series. Worse
do some kinds of ontology changes mean data loss for our users:
For example marking a field as fulltextindexed or changing the cardin-
ality will not be done during 0.8: it'll be solved by adding a new
property to the class with the characteristics of what is requested if
the request is found to be really needed.
This has everything to do with the limited or modest support for coping
with ontology changes that we plan to provide as a feature. You can
follow development of that here:
http://git.gnome.org/browse/tracker/log/?h=ontology-cope
Cheers,
Philip
