Re: [Tracker] Tracker Preferences UI redesigned for GtkBuilder

Hi,

As a first approach to release 0.7 is ok, but i think we should do a complete clean-up of that preferences applet, a little bit in this line:

http://weblog.savanne.be/176-a-tale-about-design

For instance, instead of a button under "monitoring" with only the "Enable" text, i would propose:

[Button] Enable monitoring
Tracker follow changes on the files

And something like:

----
[Button] Generate thumbnails
Tracker will generate thumbnails of images and videos

[Button] Run on battery
Tracker can be paused when the device is using battery instead of AC

Stop indexing when available disk space is under [TEXT Entry] % of total space.
----

and i would remove "Include mounted directories" and "include removable media" (or move them to a different tab...)

I'll try to propose a new .glade file (It is easier than describe the changes).

Regards,

Ivan

Hi all,

Philip and I discussed the preferences UI and how it will need some love before we release 0.7. I have come up with a GtkBuilder file (generated from glade-3) as a start.

I am including it here for review if anyone has any comments to add.

NOTE: I did think about including some of the other config options for the FTS module, etc but I don't think the user is really that interested in some of those.

Comments welcome.
