But I experience many troubles with Evolution 2.24.5 for a long time
(before Tracker 0.6.90): after a moment, Evolution loops forever when it
tries to download mails, or when I delete old mails, or even when I want
to read some. If I kill Evolution, I cannot restart it immediately
except if I logout from the session and then I reopen a session before I
start it again.
It is only recently that I found that tracker-indexer is guilty. In
fact, Evolution stops to loop forever when I kill tracker-indexer.

"evolution-imap-db.c" uses sqlite3_open(). Perhaps SQLite3 opens
Evolution's databases as read-only databases? Or, is Fedora 10 SQLite3
that uses particular parameters?
This is fixed in trunk by disabling the imap-db indexer module and
by-default enabling the push module for E-mail.

This means that a EPlugin will be compiled and installed if all the
development versions of Evolution Data Server & co. are recent enough.

It should be enabled by default in Evolution (but double check).

A lot of ubuntu users are complaining that tracker hangs evolution

If its fixed in trunk then we need another release pronto!

Yes, this is why I said Philip could go ahead with this change. I plan
on releasing some time this week.

I would like to wait a few days to see if any major issues come up.
Friday we added code to kill tracker-extract if it doesn't respond over
dbus and we also improved the way we get statistics from the database
(since we weren't including parent services (like "Files" and
"Conversations" and "Emails", etc). I would like to make sure this is
given a few days to circulate and see if anything major comes up.
