Hi,

 There are two possible limitations, in the UI and in the backend. I don't know about beagle, but in tracker there is no hard-coded limitation for the amount of results in the backend.

 It is highly inefficient to send a huge amount of results to the UI, so tracker has a mechanism to request a "window" of results (from 0 to 100, from 100 to 200...) and tracker-search-tool use that to show only the first results (though you can click on a button to retrieve the next set).
