Btw, what are your plans regarding qdbm? As it is still used, would it
be an option to switch to its successor, tokyocabinet [1]?

The idea is to replace QDBM with the FTS module of SQLite. 

Tokyocabinet is not an improvement in functionality, and our version of
QDBM has been optimized/fixed for our requirements. In the code is
almost trivial to replace it, but you can find unexpected problems with
concurrency (for instance).
