ACK,

naming it 0.6.8 (following the 0.6.6) release, would be really
misleading, as it is a major rewrite.
I like Luca's idea of using
0.6.9x (i.e. 0.6.90 -> 0.6.91 -> 0.6.92 ... 0.7)
