[Tracker] about the need for fast-merge option

Hi,

Is the setting for speed of index merging still relevant considering
the new tracker-applet has auto-pause functionality (when user is
active on X)?

As a sidenote, is dependence on availability of tracker-applet for
such functionality a good idea?
