Hi all
I've got a indexing question. I am writing a application that uses
taglib (http://developer.kde.org/~wheeler/taglib.html) and I found out
that tracker starts reindexing all my music files after taglib was
reading (!) all the tags. The files have not been changed. They were
just accessed to get id3, etc. data.
The last change times of the files are months in the past but tracker
thinks the files have to be reindexed.
Is tracker looking at the access time or something else? If so, is there
a way to find out that the file wasn't changed? Or is the cpu load
produced just coming from that?
I am using tracker version 0.6.6 on ubuntu.

tracker is triggered by files open in write mode which then close
Does taglib provide a read only file opening option?
If not I suggest filing a bug against taglib to do so as this will
affect tracker/beagle/strigi/any other indexer that uses inotify
