Hi,

Debian's Linux 2.6.24 source has over 24,000 items all consuming over
260 MB of real estate. Running it on a Core2 Duo 1.5GHz desktop and
turning smart-pausing off, I get the following:

* time taken to index it < 4 minutes
* time taken to delete it in db < 2 minutes
* time taken to rename the folder ("linux" to "linux_") < less than 2 minutes
* LowMemoryMode on ~ 17 MB
* LowMemoryMode off ~ 21 MB

 Thank you very much for the numbers. How have you measure them? Do you
have any scripts to automate this work?

 Could be nice to run the same test every week to check the...
improvements. Specially now that we are modifying a lot of code.

a lot of that might be due to kernel/sqlite improvements - I dont htink
anything siginificant has changed recently in tracker to explain those
differences
