[Tracker] store and load tags

Hi.

I'd like the tags I assign (with tracker) to files to be saved for
future reuse (typically: reindex with more recent tracker or copy to
another computer).

The best 2 places (as far as I can see) to store the tags would be
either the file metadata (eg format dependant) or its XMP sidecar file
(as mentionned in #5: http://live.gnome.org/Tracker/SoC).

I'd update these (external) tags directly from tracker-tag.


What would be the prefered way (I like the format-dependent store
whenever possible with an XMP fall-back when not)?
Has anyone already worked on *updating* files metadata (especially tags)
in tracker (eg with XMP)?
Is anyone willing to do so... quite soon? or should I have a look
(despite my noobishness ;o)




As a sidenote I am still wondering where one could store tags assigned
to mails... so if you got any idea feel free to respond!
