Hi,
attached is a small patch to enable the indexing of hidden files,
optinally. I'm not sure that feature is useful, it was mostly an
experiment.
I'd like to know what you think about it.
I dont like the idea of indexing hidden files. Files that are important
enough to be indexed should not be hidden nor shold they be shown in a
search gui (kinda defeats the purpose of being hidden)
Lets take an mbox file as an example. Most email programs keep their
mbox files in hidden files/folders.
If tracker were to index this it would treat it as a big whopping text
file and attempt to index it as a whole.
And whenever a new email came, it would do the same over. Im just scared
that this sort of behaviour would cause performance problems in tracker
so I would prefer to keep it out
On the other hand tracker will be indexing services by lookig at
specific data files in hidden files and I believe that is the right way
