What's the reasoning behind this? The fallback is good for folks
without xdg-utils, for instance in Fedora, we don't have xdg-utils.
Please drop this change.
I thought it would be a good idea to get rid of 'unnecessary code'.
Another thing is I run Debian Etch which has xdg-utils and expected it
to be found in other distros. I suppose then that the patch should
wait for time Fedora does have xdg-utils, then maybe you can test it.
