Hi, I've ran into some issues with Tracker. I'm using version 0.6.1-1 as found in Debian/unstable. Same days ago I wanted to try out the tagging feature with a PDF that I had just gotten. Here is a transcript of the session (some steps might have been carried out from Nautilus): $ mkdir /home/me/Documents/papers/ $ mv /home/me/Desktop/Downloads/file.pdf $ cd /home/me/Documents/papers/ $ tracker-tag -a fs file.pdf tracker-tag: internal tracker error: Entity /home/me/Documents/papers/file.pdf not found in database $ tracker-status Tracker daemon's status is Idle. I retried the tracker-add operation a few times to no avail. After a long time. About half an hour, if not longer, I tried again and this time it succeed. However, the behavior was far from user friendly. One or two weeks passed and I just decided that this file should go into a directory called books, so I created it, moved the file to the newly created directory (using Nautilus drag'n'drop), removed the papers directory (move to Trash Can), then checked the tags. Again the same error as before (only that this time it says .../books/file.pdf). I also added another book that I just downloaded to that directory and I get the same error for that file. The daemon is still reported as idle. Tracker-meta-folder /home/me/Documents reports that /home/me/Documents/books is indexed. It also reports that /home/me/Documents/books has no indexed content, even though it contains two files. I assume that Tracker is supposed to track file moves, so I think it's worth to mention that the system is using libfam (as opposed to libgamin). Please let me know if I can provide further information. Thanks, -- Javier Kohen <jkohen users sourceforge net> ICQ: blashyrkh #2361802 Jabber: jkohen jabber org
