[Tracker] How can I start to help in tracker?

Hello, 
I'm a student of computer science from Spain, now I have enough spare
time and I would like to help in this project. I have downloaded the
source code but I don't know the project's structure neither how can I
start to programming a new function or fix bugs.   
I need help to start, if somebody want to help me, I will be thankful.
