On another note, both evolution and thunderbird can be executed to 
display a particular email

for evo:

evolution email:///inbox/blah;uid=10

for thunderbird :

thunderbird -mail <uri>

however I dont know the format of the uri's in both cases so am 
wondering whether we may need to store extra info to get the uri's 
(sounds like we need evolutions UID field) or can they be autogenerated 
form the stuff we are currently saving?

We will need this for the gui so we can display the email when they 
double click on an email search result.
