Hi,
It's interesting to note that I haven't heard of anyone using Tracker
outside Debian and Ubuntu, even considering that the project is one
year-old. What's going on?

Tracker is available on a number of other distros, personally I use it
on Fedora where it's just been added to the Extras repo. There is also
talk about using it by default for FC7, Jamie might be interested in
partaking in that to avoid technical falacies being uttered.

That's nice.
Tracker isn't available in either Ubuntu and Debian at the moment. The
debs are provided sources external to either distro. Tracker has been
proposed for includion in Debian for months now without a response;
Ubuntu plans to intergrate Tracker on its next release, Feisty, a
Medium priority goal according to Ubuntu's Launchpad.

And todays package update for Rawhide showed:

nautilus-2.16.2-6.fc7
---------------------
* Tue Nov 14 2006 Matthias Clasen <mclasen redhat com> - 2.16.2-6
- Detect tracker dynamically, too

It has begun.... muhahahahha

I'll request a testing-update for FC6 so it will be painless for
existing users on our stable platform (such as myself).

Once Jamie makes a stable release that will work with Daze I'll submit
Mikkels new toy to Fedora Extras unless someone beats me to it.
