Hi,
I've got a question about searching Maildir emails. The same issue came up
in the Beagle list, but without a good solution. In the end, it's not
really tracker's problem, but I thought I could ask you guys for
suggestions and ideas.
The point is, I'm using mutt to read my Maildir emails. Tracker indexes and
finds these emails without any problems, but then I don't know how to open
them. The deskbar handler opens them as text files (using my gnome default
text editor) but that is quite awkward:
- I don't want to see all my email headers
- The context of the email (conversation, folder) is lost in a text editor
I haven't figured out how to use mutt to open a specific email in a Maildir
folder, but that would be the best solution. In Beagle, they sort-of
ignored the problem, because they rely more-or-less on Evolution. I guess
mutt is not so popular anymore these days, but what do people do with for
example thunderbird?
Does anybody have any suggestions? (I also use mairix to search my emails
from within mutt, and it works great, but it's just inconvenient to have
two indexers and search engines running at the same time)
Emails (from any mbox file) will be supported in future versions.
Once Emails are broken down by tracker into component parts, I expect a
gui tool like baracuda will be able to display the email nicely
formatted (and as we store the mail uri I expect evolution stuff to work
as it does with Beagle)
