sync with mail account

Hello,
I want to know how the sync option is implemented in tinymail.

I am already connect to network & my status is online, now i want to
monitor new mail in all folder & get the info about mail.

In evolution it is :edit-> prefernce ->Edit-> receving option ->
checking for new mail
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Can anyone please let me know the sequence.
