Just like in the good old days, a class diagram. This diagram shows into what kind of API I eventually want to convert the current one. An API like this would probably be for a 3.0 series release. The 2.0 API will have more modest kinds of changes (like adapting the current API to start using GIO's AsyncResult, Stream and Cancellable and other such changes).
