GNOME Sponsorship Committee | Official Status

Hi Sponsorship Committee, 

I wanted to reach out to you again on behalf of the GNOME Foundation Board of Directors to let you know that we have officially voted to approve the Sponsorship Committee into existence during our Board meeting on September 26, 2017. 

We have named the following people as members of the Sponsorship Committee: 

• Alberto Ruiz
• Emily Chen
• Neil McGovern
• Sriram Ramkrishna
• Qixiang Bootingman Wen

Congratulations and thank you for accepting to be part of this new committee! 

Over the next couple of weeks, we will make an announcement to Foundation members about the new committee, and we will ask for your assistance in next steps. We've already created a new mailing list for you: sponsorship-committee gnome org. Neil is the admin of that mailing list, so if you have any questions about it, please direct your queries to him.

p.s. We appreciate the input on the committee's name. @Wen -- your idea for "Partnership Committee" was a good one! If the committee decides that it's a better name than "Sponsorship Committee" after you begin to work together, please let us know and we're happy to consider changing it. For now, we went with "Sponsorship" since it seems like everyone thought it was a good option.
