Disregard, this patch worked fine. The time in this VM was way off and
it freaked out the openid authentication. A quick ntpdate -b +
starting ntpd made everything work. I've also tested it out on python
2.6 and (as expected) it works fine. Thanks a LOT for finding this.

I've not had a lot of luck doing pretty much the exact same thing
previously because the time in my vm was off :(
