I can drag pictures out of Shotwell onto the desktop and they get
exported with my edits.
However, I can't drag a picture in to Thunderbird, or Firefox, or
Telegram. Why is that?

Does the patch in https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=715972 helpyou?
