Re: [Shotwell] Unmerging events

This worked. Thanks so much for your help.

I have another question about edited photos. I don't know if it's better practice to start a new thread, but I'm going to add it here:

Shotwell's non-destructive photo editing is great. But there are two cases when I won't be able to use that in my library:
  1. Photos that need to be 'operated on' beyond Shotwell's capabilities. If I need to do some serious photo retouching, I would need to bring the image into the Gimp, and then export to a new file, creating two files.

  2. Every photo in my library that I've already enhanced prior to installing Shotwell. This accounts for a lot of my photos, which are currently separated into directories "Raw" and "Processed". My Shotwell library consists of all images from "Raw" and none from "Processed".

It's been driving me nuts trying to figure out how to marry the two directories into Shotwell. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Hi,

If it was the last action you should be able to edit->undo, otherwise you can select the photos that you want to split out and select events->new event or press ctrl+n.  This will put these photos in a new event and you can rename as you wish.

Hello,

I accidentally merged a couple events across different months, that
aren't part of the same event at all. Now I can't get them unstuck. How
do I put these back into separate events?

Thanks.
