Marc,

This is very much like the graphical corruption I've seen (although I'm not
xorg-edgers).  Do you get, say, black horizontal bars across text if you
scroll quickly in Firefox?

If so, I'd feel a bit more confident in blaming the graphics drivers at
this point.
