Transparent Screensaver for gnome

Hi,

I am looking for a screensaver that shows the desktop underneath, i.e. a transparent screensaver. There are a couple of standalone programs that do this, e.g alock, but it would be great if gnome-screensaver could do this. But I couldn't find any implementation out there.

Looking at how the screensaver works, it looks like it is not possible to implement. One way I thought this could be accomplished is to use window transparency. But, the GSThemeWindow does not support the "gtk_window_set_opacity" function that a normal GTK Window provides. So does this mean, transparent screensaver is not possible?

Any pointer appreciated.

Thanks,
