I don't see how...  My fix should only have an impact when a sawfish
session without any workspace changes is restarted.

There is an annoyance where windows that are either vertically or
horizontally maximized are moved.  After a restart they'll be back in
the position they were in when first maximized.  That's the closest to
what you're describing that I know of, and besides, that bug is still
there.
