Hi, all.

No, sorry, because
(1) I don't know X, including event system.
(2) I can't reproduce the same. The mask 0x4000 something happens too,
but in my case, the sawfish correctly responds to mouse clicks.
Keyboard is a bit affected, but not complete ignorance. I'll
report later on this.
Timo knows X well, but he may be too busy to work on this
completely. Maybe we have to recruit someone.

I found the similar issues posted in may 2009 and dec 2008 at:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=583822 and
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=564861
Wait for my next message first, but could you inform what you know
there, and (if you feel it helps) attach the link to the thread in ML
archive:
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.window-managers.sawfish/5846 ?
Thanks beforehand.

Look at sawfish/src/keys.c. If it has the line
static int all_buttons[5] = { Button1, Button2, Button3, Button4, Button5 };
then it's correct. (The trunk has button up to 7.)
