is it necessary for DMR application (rygel)?
No. It's the Relaxed-NG scheme for validating DLNA profiles when using
gupnp-dlna. The renderer does not use it.
it seems rygel works fine even dlna-profiles.rng does not installed
It won't if you use MediaExport.
