I am able to identify these plugins:
base, base-apps, good, bad and ugly

Is there a plugin I should have installed?  or one I should not?

I completely removed all rygel components and then reinstalled rygel and  
rygel-playbin only.  Now I am able to select desktop as renderer from  
android and play media.
