Rygel's MediaRenderer doesn't support pictures (yet) so it won't
work.
Oh, that's a great pity! What is needed to implement that?
I don't know exactly but I'm sure its not a huge task since
gstreamer can handle pictures fine. Anyway if nothing else, please do
file a bug about this.
...
In case someone else will face similar problems:
I did some experimenting and further researches on the net and it seems
my gstreamer plugins were somehow "broken". I removed all of them and
some depending packages, re-installed totem and opened a video file in
it. Totem then installed the appropriate plugin again. After that,
playing videos via DLNA worked fine! Also watching images works now :)
Although there are still some issues with that:
- Video playback opens a window with size of the videos resolution. It
would be nice if that could be configured to full screen somehow.
- When viewing images via DLNA, the image is shown in a window which
immediately closes. I then have to push the "play"-button on my phone
again and after that the image-window is shown again and stays there.
Unfortunately the image gets stretched to the size of the desktop not
considering the aspect ratio. That doesn't look very well ;)
