It's possible. However, most Linux distributions don't ship the required
MP3 support out-of-the-box for legal reasons. You'll need to install it
separately.
The exact way you would go about doing that depends on the distribution
you're using. If you're using Ubuntu, there's further information at
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats. If you use a
different distribution, you could try searching on Google with "mp3" and
the name of your distribution.
If that does not help, someone on this list may be able to help you
further if you let us know which distribution and version you're using.
