No offense at all ... especially because I was wrong ! ;)

I was blaming the backend, but it's indeed the equalizer element that
seems to distort the sound, even when all bands have 0-gain. (at least
with ladspa equalizer, "genuine" gstreamer equalizer element hears
better, though it lowers the global gain). By the way can someone
confirm that ?
