Hi all,
I'm trying to get rb to recognise my Archos Gmini 400 (usb mass storage
mp3 player).
I found a thread [1] in the mailinglist archives, where it said that, as
hal-device-manager didn't show the "portable_audio_player" capability
for the device, I should use a tool found at [2] to extract information
about the device and send it to Aaron Bockover - but unfortunately the
links to the tool on [2] are broken.
So I checked bugzilla and found [3]. In comment #7 James "Doc"
Livingston suggested to create an entry for the device
in /usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/10-usb-music-players.fdi, so I searched bugs.freedesktop.org and found a matching FDI [4]. After including it in /usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/10-usb-music-players.fdi, I now get a nice iPod icon in nautilus when mounting my Gmini, but it still does not show up in rb.
Is the Archos Gmini 400 supposed to work with the generic player plugin?
What am I doing wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Christian
I'm using hal-0.5.7 on Gentoo.
