I haven't looked at the specifics of podcasts handling on the ipod, but
at least audiobooks are bookmarkable and there are one or several fields
in the ipod database to indicate that. Maybe the file extension is used
as well, I don't remember the details. The iPod is unable to parse id3
tags as far as I know, so it doesn't store info there ;)
