Hmm, that could be a big problem with having the play button be a toggle
action.

The way it used to be done, with several buttons that change visibility
to appear like one button changing icon, causes some problems. Another
option is to have the play and pause buttons both there, but have one of
them disabled.

Yes, they're part of gnome-icon-theme - most icon themes don't have
icons for this, so it falls back on the standard gnome ones.
