For my part, Ogg Vorbis and FLAC (vorbis comment field: DISCNUMBER). 
That field is, in fact, taken into account when sorting by any field 
other than track number.

By the way, when selecting an album, it would also be nice to have the 
songs sorted by track number as well. By default, they are sorted by 
artist, which is a problem when selecting a compilation (various artists).
