The situation is more complex than just adding something to the app to edit
ID3. It's not we can just link to libid3 or something. RB uses gstreamer
which uses streams. So RB is actually letting gstreamer open the file and
then gstreamer takes care of playback. To edit the id3 header you have to
read from the stream and then somehow write it back to the file. Is it
particular difficult? Probably not to a experienced programmer who knows
how to do read bits and put it in memory. (not me)

I suggest if you want id3 editing that you send mail to the gstreamer group
asking for the feature. Perhaps if enough people ask they will get to it
sooner. Or if you want volunteer to work on the plugin. I'm sure your help
will be quite welcome.

We love you too. If you want it badly enough and willing to pur your
resources on it then feel free to work on the gstreamer plugin. We'll be
happy to see it.

Your complaint is quite vague. Telling us it's broken doesn't give us
anything useful to work on. Colin and others are very diligent in fixing
bugs. Please put in a report in bugzilla.
