Hey,
I'm not entirely sure whether this is freeze-break worthy considering
that the issue is partly cosmetic, but it has been annoying for long
enough to try :-)
Last cycle gjs added a warning for JS code that accesses objects that
are being destroyed, resulting in plenty of "invalid access" warnings
in the journal (I'm sure you've seen them!)
We've had
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/merge_requests/4
for a while to address this, but it's still stuck in review because
one of the patches is still contended.
In order to get at least some progress on the issue, I asked to split
out the patch still under discussion, so now we have
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/merge_requests/209
to land the gros of the patches that have been accepted months ago.
I'm sorry this leaked into the hard-code freeze period, landing
patches piece-wise isn't gitlab's strength
Cheers,
Florian
