While packaging I noticed the following:
- relies on unreleased grilo changes
- relies on git NetworkManager

It would be nice to have new releases for above. You also mentioned that
some work is needed for new upower. IIRC regarding something inside
telepathy?

mission-control has dropped the support for the old upower  0.9 apis and gained support for using logind instead, but that is not in a release yet - until a 0.17 release appears, you have to build with --disable-upower and live without the inhibit functionality.
