Hey guys,
gnome-shell has some old code in it that basically makes it break if
it's running with GDM less than 3.5.92. Unfortunately, the version
checking function evaulates '10' less than '5' so GDM 3.10.0 made the
broke code trigger.
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=708691
we'll need to push the patches on that bug for gnome 3.10 to be able to log in.
Giovanni has objections; I'd accept the fix to versionCompare for
3.10.0, and the other one, if appropriate, for a point release.
I agree, lets just do the minimal versionCompare fix for 3.10.0, and
do the bigger cleanup later. So, thats the second approval for you.
I want to point out that we still have another unfixed ugly redraw
issue in the shell with
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=708367
I'm still holding out in the hope that Owen and Jasper can track that
down today or tomorrow. So maybe the best cause would be to do a
3.10.0.1 shell release with the versionCompare fix, and then do a
3.10.0.2 if we get a fix for 708367.
