now is a partial revert - we're moving the change to g-s-d, so that we
can have a tweak-tool option to turn it back on.

That sounds acceptable indeed. Looks like we want to get
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=705359 in for 3.10.
