Hey,
at yesterdays GTK+ team meeting, we've discussed the release date for GTK+ 3.
Considering that we are still landing features and/or API changes,
there was a general desire
to have a feature freeze period before blessing master with the '3.0'
label. Therefore, we
agreed to release a 2.99 in the first week of January, and 3.0 in
early February.
2.99 will be considered API- and feature-frozen (except for emergencies).
I don't think this clashes with the GNOME 3.0 schedule, but I think it
is fair to inform the release team beforehand. If there are any
concerns with this schedule adjustment, please let me know.
Matthias
